Multisigs will be used for the initial bootstrapping of the project and for governing key parameters. The system is non custodial. There should be no circumstances under which it is possible for admin functions to pause, syphon off or redirect user capital and thus time-lock delays are not required.
To bolster security and decentralisation we've launched the Guardian Multisig from day 0. A group of ecosystem experts, with leading reputations and representatives from key protocols already building with Maverick that compliment and enhance Unlock.
The Guardians are voluntary and present to enhance the Maverick and Unlock ecosystems. To further Community Ownership users from partner communities collect Keys faster.
See guardian bonuses at the link below:
6/8 signatures; meaning that to pass any resolution or transaction at least 6 of the 8 signatories will have to agree.
Multisig rights:
Review of requests to change protocol features.
Review safety proposals e.g. abnormal reward gauges.
Preview and test of beta features of Unlock.
Inform design choices for Unlock through their experience.
Keeping with the intention of Unlock being decentralised its funds will be no different. The treasury multisig integrates some of the guardians to enhance security.
The treasury will initially consist of 7 signers with a 4 sig majority required:
3x Unlock Contributors
4x Guardians
UNK
will be utilized as a governance tool for key decisions shaping Unlock, such as:
Unlock Snapshop Voting (e.g. setting fee rates, setting reward rates)
Maverick Snapshot Voting (e.g. Should Maverick implement 'x'?)
Other Maverick Voting (e.g. Gauges or similar)
